Downloading and using silhouette clips is free*.
Silhouettes are 360x180 versions of Greenlayers clips with the actor depicted as a solid black image. If you’ve seen the Apple iPod ads of black silhouetted actors with white ear buds, you’ve seen silhouette video characters in use.
The purpose of the Silhouette is for you to test the positioning and travel paths of Greenlayers actors in your favorite compositing or video editing applications such as; After Effects, Premier, Shake, Final Cut or other popular programs. These applications permit you to use your own background image or video whilst giving you full control of the Greenlayers Silhouette clip in the editing timeline.
Decide if the actor's positioning or travel paths suit your background. If the clip suits, download the full color version of the clip in your preferred resolution.
Downloaded Silhouettes imported into your favorite compositing or video editing application permit you to use the full editing versatility of your application whilst the actor is displayed as a black silhouetted image. You cannot see the actor's clothing or face as the clip is solid black. You can however control the positioning and movement of the actor via your editing timeline.
If you want to work a full color clip – use the Green Room. Choose a full color clip from your favorites. From the Green Room you can quickly assess the clip for its color match and perspective relative to your uploaded image background.
The Green Room only permits JPEG or PNG images as the background plate. An uploaded frame grab of the video you propose to use as your background is a great way to create the background plate in the Green Room.
Unlike a downloaded Silhouette in your own editing application, the Green Room does not permit you to control the timeline of the clip, nor to import motion video as the background.
